Patricia Piccinini:
Evolution
13 March 2009 - 14 June
2009
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
Acclaimed international artist,
Patricia Piccinini takes us on an incredible evolutionary journey to
encounter the possible flora and fauna of our future
world.
Patricia Piccinini has received worldwide
attention for her startling sculptures, digital environments and images
that compel us to consider an ecology and biology that blend species in
the frontier world of experimental technological and biological
environments. Piccinini’s works take us to a post-Darwinian destination
populated with fantastical creatures, new communities and bio-ethical
conundrums.
This is the first major survey of Patricia
Piccinini’s works exhibited in Tasmania.
To be opened by Nick Mitzevich, Director of the Queensland University Art Gallery.
7pm - 13 March 2009
