Evolution

Patricia Piccinini

This was the first major survey of Patricia Piccinini’s works exhibited in Tasmania.

Patricia Piccinini has received worldwide acclaim for her hyperreal sculptures, digital environments and images that compel us to consider an ecology and biology that blend species in the frontier world of experimental technological and biological environments. Evolution depicted a post-Darwinian world populated with fantastical creatures, new floral and faunal communities, and bio-ethical conundrums.

The exhibition was opened by Nick Mitzevich.

Presented by Detached in association with Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Dates: March 13 - June 14, 2009

Location: Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
